My boyfriend made a major screw up a few weeks ago (lied about still talking to an ex – she wants him back, he apparently thought they could just be friends) and I decided to give him and this potentially-ended relationship another chance. He is really sorry and has really shown change and maturity, but I am very hurt and scared because of it so I question everything – I’m pretty depressed about the whole thing. He there for me, never gets frustrated with my incessant berating (even though I am), and drags me out of bed in the morning so i don’t wallow (he was in a major depression at one time too). But when I get into my low points, I wonder if I should just end it and start over (which i really dont want to do) and wonder why I love him (I say it like breathing, so naturally).
I found your post, and I realized that I feel the same as almost all of your reasons – even if right now I’m angry and sad.
I’ve been forgiven before in the past, for reasons similar and others, when I probably didn’t deserve it – so why shouldn’t I give a man who has loved me and gotten on his knees to beg for forgiveness a second chance?
This post really helped me remember why I’m still here. I love him, even if he hurt me. We’ve all hurt someone we love before.

All of these are correct. Especially the last one. I’ve been with my boyfriend Blake for nearly a year now, and we’ve already been through it all. And everything we go through just only manages to bring us even closer together. And there isn’t a minute that goes by in our lives that we’re not thankful for the tribulations, the laughter, and the tears that we’ve experienced.
He loves me for who I am, flaws and all. And I love him just the same. I love his funny little quirks that he thought would hinder our relationship, because those quirks makes him one of a kind.
